The reason for the dual names is because the relay box that you'll see in picture 14 says Washington Rd. However, the FRA calls this crossing Freeland Rd, because the street changes names at the crossing, and there was a mix-up somewhere.

This CSX train left Midland a little before getting here. It uncoupled most of the cars it was pulling when it crossed. Upon getting here, we were seeing a lot of cars going around the gates, but what you don't see is just before picture 16 was taken, a car went around the gates, shortly followed by a police car! He was shortly pulled over for going around the gates! Gregg and I were laughing so hard at that moment. Too bad I didn't film it. |

Anyway, back to the train. The train blocked the tracks for up to 10 minutes. There is a spur just to the left of picture 18. It picked up a car, went back across the crossing, picked up the other cars it had, and continued to Saginaw. The electronic bells kept on ringing as the gates went up. We got it again at Garfield Rd.
